Meet the Instructors
Andi Hearn
Andi Hearn has been teaching and performing Irish music in Columbia for many years and formed the Redbird School of Irish Music in 2006. She has a range of student ages and levels. "I like to keep each lesson challenging, fun and tailored to each student's interests." Tunes, songs and techniques are learned in the traditional style: by ear, with a focus on technical form as needed.
Davey Mathias
Davey Mathias started playing guitar at the age of nine and has since studied a wide variety of styles. He offers lessons in DADGAD guitar accompaniment for Irish music. Davey is also a skilled tenor banjo player and teaches tunes and techniques from the Irish repertoire for tenor banjo and mandolin.
